Wagering in Poker

Per poker dictionary bet refers to the money put in to the pot for a wager when it is turn for someone to place stakes in the pot.  Bet the pot in poker dictionary refers to betting chips for the size of the whole pot.  The basics behind the size of the bet is based on the assumption or calculation that a player makes regarding the kind of the hand that the opponent holds versus the kind of hand the player personally does hold. The bet size is in most cases indicative of the position of the player with respect to the strength of the hand. (more…)
